Anime 2012 Summer Season

im already 3 weeks behind since the summer season  officially started, but what the hell. at first it didnt seem like there was going to be any good shows, but at summer approached some of the shows started to look more promising. ive already watched some of the first episodes for them i hope to write positive reviews at the end of the season.

ive managed to narrow it down to 6-7 shows that i'll be watching this summer. presumably it averages out to 1 episode and 1 review per day, but as we all know im so lazy as hell that it'll probably take days before each episode review comes out. pffftttt im already 3 weeks behind as it is! so without further ado, heres the main shows i hope to keep up with. not in any particular order of course.

yuru yuri
Genres: comedy, slice of life
Themes: school life, yuri

My thoughts: the first season seemed ok. it was enough to call it passable so i hope that the second season doesnt disappoint. most memorable part was the first episode where they were trying to find a characteristic for akari

koi to senkyo to chocolate
Genres: comedy, drama, romance
Themes: harem, school, student council

my thoughts: looks like another harem/seitokai anime. i wouldnt say this is gonna be the best anime for this season, but its something that will hopefully get me by. probably the only thing that sticks out to me is the character designs. lets just hope this doesnt disappoint.

binbou gami ga
Genres: comedy, supernatural
Themes: luck, misfortune, school

my thoughts: usually im not a big fan of supernatural themed animes so to say, but this... this one looks to be ONE HELL OF A PROMISING ANIME.... well concept wise atleast. a rich tittyko who has all the fortune in the world suddenly finds herself the target of a bad luck goddess ( i swear to god, i thought that was a male god before i saw the first episode). combined with slapstick comedy and hilarious references, this is most likely gonna be the BEST anime for this summers season. although with saying that, i hope not to have hight expectations for this show incase it lets me down with a horrible ending or something similar.

tari tari
Genres: comedy, drama
Themes: school, singing

my thoughts: im basically only watching this one because its from the same ppl that created hanasaku iroha. i liked the artistic style of hanasaku iroha so im hoping this anime doesnt disappoint.

edit: i would like to add that ive seen the first episode of this and im skeptical with mixed reviews. the singing portion of what this anime is based on reminds me of Nymphogear(Symphogear anime) anime with similarities, like the singing of course. and this also reminds me of the last episode of r-15 (where they did that hilarious choir song for their competition)

Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai
Genres: comedy, romance, supernatural
Themes: fanservice, libido

my thoughts: first off let me say... ALL YOU HENTAI OTAKU LOVERS WILL ENJOY THIS. yeah like every episode. i have mixed feelings for this anime. firstly, it reminds me of a older big tits nude version of Shakugan No Shana fused with High School DxD. its the SAME basic plot and premise with nudity thrown in. the VA for the male lead is the same person that did Yoshi for Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu and Kodomo no Jikan. he basically plays the roles for comedic stupid characters. thats his greatest  perk. but to have him play an ignorant horndog!? that just kind of killed it!

Kono Naka Ni Hitori Imouto Ga Iru
Genres: romance
Themes: harem, imouto, marriage, school

My thoughts: KUWAII IMOUTO ONEE CHAN MOE.... and whatever else comes into mind. yeah, thats what that anime is about. i find the premise to be quite interesting actually. somewhere along the lines of "brother your soo rich and im going to marry you. but i will disguise myself among the other girls  so you dont know that youre actually marrying your little sister"

the thing that comes to mind is something along the lines of "to catch the killer" anime. except instead of trying to find out who the killer is and solving the mystery, were trying to find out who the sister is and preventing their marriage. this also reminds me of the anime mayo chiki where the girl dressed up as the guy and eventually falls in love with him. i predict that this anime will go in that direction, where Mr X, the girl who is helping him falls in love with him and later turns out to be his sister.

Overall:
well there you have it, the 6 or so animes i will be watching this summer. i wanted to watch Ebiten but now im not even sure if its out for summer season or not. anyways i hope none of these will disappoint me and i hope to write great reviews at the end.

Nazo No Kanojo 13 (END)

OMG IM SO EXCITED TO BE REVIEWING THIS EPISODE AS WELL AS THIS ANIME AS A WHOLE!! (cant you tell by the caps :P )

im gonna start off with what seems to be the premise of the series.... drool!

taking advantage of your sisters drool
while she sleeps is not a good thing!

found it funny and weird that the episode starts off with tsubaki checking out his sister sleeping and then asking her if she has a boyfriend. nevertheless im glad we get to see more sister action this time around.

coincidence?

hmm it just so happens that they run into each other while shopping for some food.... although you gotta admit, its a plus for urabe since she gets to meet the future in-laws :O
then they start talking about the past.... when tsubakis sister had a boyfriend!!!

Youko and the unknown boyfriend

if they resembled tsubaki and urabe soo much back then, does that mean that they had their own drool bonding. and what will this mean for future storyline!?

urabes win pic!

now this is where things start getting better. not only does urabe look cute in the dress but shes also going to ask for blessing at a cemetery!? so far throughout this episode, everyone has been getting to know each other more and more. then they made their report to their deceased mother and now things continue from there...

on a mothers gravestone.....

tsubaki and urabe share passionate dialogues while paying tribute to tsubakis mother. this whole scene is filled with emotional and visual dialogue. it really captivates the essence of what the main characters are trying to aspire. these pictures can explain more than anything i can ever think of...

symbolic rose detailing their relationship

thus we get to the emotional finale of this seasons episode....

we can all see that :)

as well as with urabes reaction and response....

see you at season 2!

i realized that there are ALOT of pictures for this post review. i would like to say that there is no way i could ever express what i felt for this series as a whole without display all these beautiful pictures.

final thoughts:
this anime as a whole EXCEEDED my expectations. i have been following this manga at onemanga since its one-shot debut back in 2006. i have since then been following the manga on a month basis. to this date, i have yet to be disappointed!

i, along with many of the veteran followers of nazo no kanojo have long waited for this to be adapted into an anime. back in 2011 it was sad to say that tktranslate (the ppl who currently scanlate this manag) trolled some of the ppl with the april fools anime post. it was until december that all our wishes came true! we were informed that this manga would be made into an anime, and after that there was nothing but rejoice.

many of the ppl that were new to nazo no kanojo initially gave negative reviews. they were one-sidedly talking about how this was going to be a horrible anime because of the drool scenes. as episodes passed by, people got accustomed and eventually accepted the storyline as a whole. as we got to the last episode, people raved and gave positive reviews and were hoping for a 2nd season. as for me...

i would like to say that i am definitely looking forward to a 2nd season for all the following reasons:
A. storyline was superb!
B. intro and ending were great!
C. music/ost/insert music was fantastically created and added more to the anime
D. the symbolism throughout the anime e.x the seemingly awkward dreams they had, as well as the symbolic representation of the flower and bee. and most importantly their DROOL EXCHANGE

its inevitable that im going to say i cant get enough of this anime. it displays unique originality and was greatly executed. its not everyday that you come along a mysterious girl who wields scissors and can attack at lightning speed.

with that being said, i give this anime a 9.5/10
its not everyday you come along animes as fantastic and memorable as thing. its storyline along with its retro presentation bring back nostalgic memories to the good old days. its also something that people can associate with at one point in their lives.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS ANIME OVER AND OVER.

 thanks for reading all this!

Sankarea 12 (end)

i dont think i posted anything about this anime, so what better way to start off then by talking about the last episode!

taken from ep 11 but still useful in ep 12.

this episode starts off with chihiro looking back on his actions and planning for whats gonna happened ahead. then it gets to the boring part where hes talking with his family and the stupid annoying grandpa

midnight stroll

things start to pick up a bit when they go out for a walk late at night. rea wanted to see the fireworks but sadly it was cancelled due to rain. continuing on, they decide to have their own fireworks show. so bleh!

love rival!

so we finally get to the part where they know they are rivals for chihiros love. whichever way you look at it, its an awkward choice. i mean, does he go with:

A. the childhood friend whos known him for years, but happens to be his COUSIN!
B. a rich girl he only met recently who happens to be a ZOMBIE and as a chance of rotting way in the future

touch choice there!

school!

so finally it has come to the decision that rea is going back to school, not sure how they will manage this since they have to figure out how to keep her from the sunlight (ahaha kore wa desu zombie all over)?

in the end everyone is happy and all that until we get to....

aaawwww <3

then it gets confusing....

zombie love bite!?

i think she ends up giving him a zombie hickey. doesnt explain what happens after.
final thoughts:
i gotta say that this whole series was interesting in general. im very surprised that the manga version quickly got adapted into an anime. the only bad thing about this is that it reminds me of the shoujo version of kore wa desu zombie ka. and it leaves it at a cliff hanger. urgh why do they have to hold out for a 2nd season at this point!?
i would give it a 6.0/10 because the plot seemed too predictable and the storyline wasnt anything new and surprising. i would give this anime a shot though if in doubt.

thanks for watching!

Haiyore 12 (end)

we have reached the end for this series :O
overall i have mixed feelings, not only about the ending, but the series as a whole. granted i never understood any of the terminology they used. i just mainly watched it for the comedy and references. the story could have been better, but then again its my fault for not understanding half the things they were talking about. anyways...

7 whole minutes of looking for his friends

we were all expecting him to be searching for his friends since it was his fault he lost them in the first place, but come on! i mean wtf!? 7 minutes of running around!? precious wasted anime time. although this doent top yuru yuri ep 1(season 2) of akari day dreaming the first 10 minutes!

oohhh laaahhh laahhhh

that scene and music remind me of the theme from puella magi madoka magica. very eerrrriieee. anyways, after wasting another 2 minutes of flashback from his memories of his friends, we finally get to an action scene!

aha dont we all

so we finally get to the premise of the episode by finding out hes into adult games. caught me off guard and made me laugh! after that, there was another 5 or so minutes of action with background music. that added variety to a comedic anime. this was followed by some lovey dovey stuff.

if you tell me it is wrong to love you, i will tell you that youre wrong
each and every time. i could tell you countless times.

that kind of wraps up this episode and the series as a whole. it was filled with an amusing storyline along with some hilarious references. and best of all, the two main characters were full of win. only downside would be that i did not understand some of the terminology they used and it was difficult to keep up with after a while. all in all i recommend this series, i would go as far as giving it a 6.5/10

thanks for keeping up!
