Tasogare Otome Amnesia 08

Like always, this post contains SPOILERS so dont read if you dont wanna be spoiled :)

its no exaggeration to say that this episode starts off confusingly

Even though this continues from episode 7, its still confusing as hell. I get the feeling that she acts emo a lot of the times and uses the "amnesia" as a productive excuse. which has been a staple throughout the anime as well as the manga.

i would go through the trouble of breaking a leg
if i could be fed and nursed also.

i just noticed, why does the right half look sunny and cheersome, but the left side looks gloomy and sad.

anyways continuing on.... teiichi is debating what he should do about yuuko and all that remembering stuff which adds staleness for the first half of the episode

seems awful that the love confession scene is all black
and white with no background scenary, kinda
sucks the life out of love dont ya thing?

except for this bland lovey dovey scenery, part before was comical. Momoes friends were sizing him up as a potential future husband. so this begs the question...... is Niiya future wife gonna be:

A. the ghost of a girl who died 50? years ago
B. a tsundere flat chested girl who doesnt seem to fit in the story other than being related to Yuuko
C. a ditzy girl who romantically falls in love with Niiya because of his courageous efforts to explore the unknown world of the paranormal investigations club. Momoe, who also has friends that approve of Niiya and she herself has expressed her love and devotion

EEERRRIIIEEEE SIMILARITIES

thats the only thing that came to mind when i watched this lovey dovey scene and that pretty much wraps up the episode, except the epilogue after the credit scenes. speaking of which, when they show/make the bell noise, am i the only one that pictures the madoka song sis puella magica song???

this weeks episode deals with tsubaki getting sick and mikoto participating in the running event thingy.

BEWARE: THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS SO DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANNA BE SPOILED

i thought id start off with a pleasant pic for this episode

^^^^ this is what happens when you try to hug your "girlfriend^^^^

wasnt surprised at how the anime followed the manga verbatim. and i pretty much liked this episode. pretty straight forward. it starts off with miko running fast, and then some other girl wants her to join the track team

who would have thought that Mikoto CAN make friends!?

the episode continues with tsubaki getting sick and having to stay away from school for a couple of days. the only thing i didnt understand was the cause of his illness??? i dont think it was ever explained. hmm maybe i missed it.

ahahaha tsubakis sister can still rock that uniform!

episode proceeds with Mikoto visiting Tsubaki at his house per the usual excuse "i came to bring him his homework". im still skeptical whether Tsubakis sister knows what Mikotos intentions are. But nonetheless Miko gets into his room and performs her "drool experiment"

Not only did she experiment by wearing only a bikini but she still kept her scissors on her!?!?

i think this is what makes nazo no kanojo special. the fact that Mikoto would take things this far even though shes antisocial and antiromantic.....anyways later on in the episode they are having the school sports games??? and it is revealed that Oka (midget with the huge melons) was the one responsible for giving Mikoto the idea.

the basic premise for this episode and their love

episode ended on a good note. overall the flow of it was pretty much what i expected. although i was saddened that there was no panty scissors attack.

but she cant cause of the daily routine she has to do.

Spring Anime 2012!

Lets face it.... its already halfway through the spring season with most of the animes im watching already being at episode 6. Ive decided that it would be alot (emphasis on alot) easier to write a brief description on the animes im watching along with why i chose them. i will quickly skim through the episodes that came out and  in  a couple days i will be caught up to the current episodes. after that, i will write about the current episodes that are out and my thoughts on them.

BEWARE THERE WILL BE MAJOR SPOILERS. so dont continue reading if you dont wanna be spoiled :)
who doesnt wanna be spoiled.

anyways. these animes will be posted in the order they come out in japan/the day of the week i download them.

1. Kore wa Zombie desu ka?: Jigoku Hen (Tuesday Nights)

Summary: The second season of Kore wa Zombie desu ka, Aikawa Ayumu is a normal high school boy. One day he is killed by a serial killer and revived as a zombie by a necromancer named Eucliwood Hellscythe. He starts to serve Eu as her guard but he happens to deprive the mahou shoujo Haruna of her magic power. Haruna orders Ayumu to fight against the anti-mahou shoujo system “Megalo” in her place.

My thoughts: pretty much liked the first season. seems kinda unique to have a pseudo harem consisting of a ninja, a girl with a chainsaw, a necromancer, and a vampire ninja. that along with the male lead who is suppose to be a zombie brought back to life by the necromancer.

most of the characters in the 2nd season seem quite enjoyable, like seraphim who always calls ayumu a perverted piece of shit. or eu who always seems to act like a loli vn character in the eyes of ayumu, even though she cant talk. to me, the most interesting character would be maelstrom cause of the way she acts.

2. Sankarea (Wednesday Nights)

Summary: Furuya’s obsessed with zombies. He collects any figurines, watches any movie, and plays any game with the living dead, and is even only interested in zombie girls. When his cat dies, Furuya begins trying to raise it from the dead using an ancient book of the occult he bought from a shop. But what will happen when he sees the idol of a nearby all girl’s school walking close to where he conducts his experiment, wishing to die and be reborn as a different person?

My thoughts: the 2nd zombie anime for spring season and so far it seems quite interesting. the main protagonist chihiro is a zombie otaku! which adds to the parodies shown in some of the episodes. he actually has the will to bring zombies to life which is the premise of this anime. the main female protagonist is rea who decides to eventually succumb to death rather than live with her pedophile of a father. interesting concept to a zombie themed anime.

3. Nazo No Kanojo (Saturday nights)

yes i purposely put the panty scissors attack as the pic

Summary: One day, a strange transfer student appears before Tsubaki. Urabe Mikoto is an antisocial girl, whose hobby is just sleeping during class-breaks. One day, Tsubaki goes to wake her up and accidentally tastes her drool… And gets hooked on that!

YES THAT IS THE PREMISE FOR THE ANIME

After that he professes his love for her. Her second hobby,  much to our surprise (eh heh), is carrying around scissors in her panties and cutting anything that gets in her way.

My thoughts: eh-heh-hem..... and i quote verbatim....

Akira: Mikoto, do you have any hobbies?
Mikoto: hobbies?
Akira: yeah, like sports or playing music
Mikoto: hmm.... scissors i guess....
Akira: huh? scissors?
Mikoto: wanna see??
Akira: sure..... *holds out a piece of paper*

Miko: *gathers up energy and with beutiful grace, takes her scissors from her panties, spins them around at rapid speeds, and proceeds to cut the paper into flowers.*

yes, yes, yes, yes she has deadly accuracy with the scissors to the point that she cut her own hair in a matter of seconds!!!  i like how the anime adaptation emphasized how; with lightning speed, she can gracefully do anything with her scissors. the anime adaptation also follows the manga scene for scene which is one of the great things i like about this. the plot for this anime is also very unique which is what i like. its something thats original which adds to the "mysteriousness" of Urabe Mikoto

So far this anime HAS NOT disappointed and i HIGHLY RECOMMEND this anime

4. Tasogare Otome Anmesia (Sunday nights)

Summary: The story takes place in Seikyou Private School. A facility that consists of multiple buildings that connect together to accommodate both junior and senior high school students. Sixty years of ongoing renovations and expansions have meant most of the old inner structures have been sealed and abandoned. Classrooms turned into storage rooms, staircases no longer in use, hallways like dark alleys. With the existence of such a maze-like building, it is only natural that rumours of the paranormal would appear.

One day first-year middle school student Teiichi Niiya gets lost in this maze and by chance arrives at an old storage room. This is where he meets Yuuko Kanoe, a mysterious girl with raven black, long silky hair and a tall and slender figure, who introduces herself as the ghost of the old school building. For some unexplainable reason Niiya is the only one able to see this spirit and she herself does not have any recollection of the reasons or time of her death, nor any lingering feelings about life itself. Curious about the circumstances of her death the two create a paranormal investigation club and seek to find out the truth about it and the many other mysteries surrounding the school.

My thoughts: i started with the manga, which is why i decided to watch the anime adaptation. i like how its a horry and mystery anime. that and the manga version has the benefit of ecchiness which i have yet to see in the anime.

good things: the plot deals with finding out the story behind yuukos death( she mysteriously died at the school 50 years prior to the time setting). its suppose to have 7 "mysteries" in all.
i like the opening song

bad things: its produced by silver link, the company who screwed up baka to test to shoukanjuu season 2.
and the first episode is all backward from the manga. the manga explains the plot better, and the first episode made it very confusing to understand.

5. Haiyore! Nyaruko-san (Monday nights)

Summary: The story of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san centers around Nyaruko, a formless Cthulhu deity of chaos (Nyarlathotep) who can take on the shape of a seemingly ordinary silver-haired girl. Mahiro Yasaka is a normal high school boy who is chased by aliens one night, until Nyaruko saves him.

My thoughts: pretty hilarious!!! you can never go wrong with a MOE character AND the parodies shown!
i liked the mini anime version that came out last year and i decided to watch this and so far it hasnt diapointed! ooohhhh next review i will add the pic where she does the nazi salute! and i will add more thoughts/info to this.

6. Hyouka (Monday or Tuesday Nights)

Summary: Oreki Hotaro is a high school boy, who always acts passively. One day, he enters “Koten Bu (Classic Literature Club)” as recommended by his elder sister.  There he meets Chitanda Eru, Fukube Satoshi, and Ibara Mayaka. Chitanda is a calm beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says, “I’m interested in it (Watashi, Kininarimasu)”. Fukube is a smiling boy with a fantastic memory, he never deduces anything on his own. Ibara is a short girl and is strict with others and herself. She loves Fukube, but he always dodges her approaches.  They begin to investigate a case that occurred 33 years ago. Hints of the mystery are buried in an old collection of works of the former members of Koten Club. The collection is titled “Hyouka”.

My thoughts: only 3 episodes are out so far so i cant make a 100% thought on this. althought it is suppose to be another msytery anime which is a plus. the funniest part is where the male protagonist is suppose to be the laziest person in the world and always calculates how much "energy" he has left. pretty hilarious. i'll probably add more info in the next couple of days when i catch up with episode 4 and 5.

What I Like To Read

Id like to start off by saying I initially got into the world of Japanese culture back in the 10th grade. First manga I ever read was Detective Conan. pretty much liked it and i continued reading it on onemanga before the site stopped uploading mangas. Anyways, I now read most mangas at mangafox :D

thus what im reading/currently reading:

Detective Conan: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Mystery, Romance, School Life, Sci-fi, Shounen, Tragedy

its about jimmy kudo, highschool detective with skills comparable to those of sherlock holmes, turns into a little kid thanks to a mysterious drug by an evil black organization and now he must solve mysterious as a little kid while keeping his identity a secret.

^^^ omg that was a long run on sentence ^^^

Liar Game: Drama, Mystery, Psychological, Seinen

its about shinichi akiyama (along with nao kanzaki), a psychologist prodigy who competes in a tournament where people have to "lie" to steal other contestants money. VERY mindblowing manga that involves alot of psychological thinking, strategy, and battle of the minds if you will. i HIGHLY recommend this manga!

Nazo No Kanojo (Mysterious Girlfriend): Comedy, Mature, Romance, School Life, Seinen, Slice Of Life, Supernatural

its about a girl, Urabe Mikoto, who has the elegence and power to control and cut objects with scissors with pinpoint accuracy and superb speed. her "panty scissors attack" is as fast as the speed of wind. now that i think about it, its kind of a unique plot for a manga. and it got animated for this springs lineup :D

Tasogare Otome Amnesia (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia): Horror, Mystery, Romance, School Life, Shounen, Supernatural

its about a girl who dies at the school 50 years prior to the current time setting. she has amnesia so she cant remember how she died. so now along with some friends, they have to solve hear death and the "7 mysteries" involved in the school.
this manga was great at first, but since then has been confusing and lost some of its touch.

Gamble Fish: Comedy, Ecchi, Harem, Mystery, Psychological, School Life, Shounen

kind of like liar game in terms of psychological battles but this manga is weirder and crosses the line at times. i have the perception that this manga can be ecchi, but nonetheless the artistic style is AMAZING!!!! sadly, the manga hardly gets updated now :(

I will probably post the ones I finished reading a long time ago. Anyways I really like these ones but I wouldnt go as far as recommending them

The Adventure Begins

Ive decided to see what it would be like to explore the world of anime through the eyes of a fanatic. However, im not limiting it to just anime alone. I also plan on doing things on manga, japanese culture, anime and so forth. Hmm... who knows, maybe i'll create something fun here.
